Muphyll Tecpurba

Please note: Some terms related to my worldbuilding, so the words you cannot understand, just use interpretation.

Muphyll Zephyr Tecpurba was born to Matilda and Dike Tecpurba on October 1st in the Reef of the Hydro Serpent. Matilda was a Warrior of the Deep, and Dike was a technological genius. When Muphyll was growing up, she looked up to her mother the most. She doesn’t get to see her mother often, as she always goes on missions around the Reef, or outside. Muphyll is wanted to be a warrior like her mother: to be strong, diligent, fearless to the unknown. To draw her blade on her opponent. She wanted to be just like that. Well, not as an actual warrior. A metaphorical term. Though, she wishes to help people.
One day, when Muphyll was 13, she and her family travelled to Turtle Island of the Geo Terraformer to take part in the family’s annual travel to different kingdoms of Phoeai. She was able to take part in the First Dawn Ceremony, only celebrated by the people of the Turtle Island. She remembers sitting in a circle around many civilians of every race, with the Terraformer in the middle, calling on the young children and elderly who had requested to cleanse their spirit. Though not a young child, he called on Muphyll, which had surprised her, but she suspected her parents had something to do with it. Incense fell around her and the people being cleansed, with the people around the circle chanting a song of sorts.
She remembers every detail.
Because that was the day before downfall.
A day later, Muphyll and her family decided to take the long way and go down the road and walk all the way to the Reef, which is different from the blimps they always use.
She had a wonderful adventure on her way back: seeing villages, a detour to the Crevice, and many new sights she saw.
She was a few kilometres away before they arrived at the Reef. Suddenly, a gang of Viles ambush them. However, they were smart enough to recognize Muphyll’s mom being a knight—a well-known and skilled knight to be exact—so they let the family off the hook. Matilda didn’t arrest them because it “wasn’t worth it”.
She should’ve regretted that.
On that night, they arrived home. They placed their belongings downstairs, and went upstairs to sleep.
Muphyll heard it first.
A machine or mechanism was powering off. Then another. And another.
She felt fearful, but remembered her mother. Fearless.
So, she got out of bed and went downstairs to check it out.
The Viles were in her house.
Her mom jumped in at the nick of time, and fought them off. Muphyll went with her father to send a distress signal, but one of the Viles started a fire. Muphyll tried to activate the water hoses, but they were broken. The Viles fled, and the house started to burn down. Her father instructed Muphyll to escape through a window, which she did. Her father stayed inside to look for her mother, and some of the residents came out to keep the fire at its lowest.
But it was no use.
The fire reached to some explosive material in her house, and it exploded her house, doing some damage to the houses around it.
Muphyll felt despair.
And something stirred beneath her.
Her psychic abilities first formed here, and she heard her parents’ voices in their minds.
“It hurts!” Was all she could hear.
Sunrise came, and the fire died down.
Her house damaged severely.
The Viles were never found.
From that day on, she sought out to be a knight like her mother. Not metaphorically, a real knight. She had decided to join the Ieval Knights in the Crevice, where she trained tirelessly every day.
When she was 16, she finally got in.
She was a knight.
Although, not all seemed well.
On her first year, she saw countless times for the rich looking down on the poor. Gossiping about them. Throwing garbage when no one was looking. She couldn’t do anything because the rich were more powerful and influential.
So, she started a plan.
She brought up the suggestion to her general.
“Freedom to the Oppressed.”
That was what it was called.
Her general approved of this.
So every night, Muphyll covers her scale-ridden body with a silk cloak and hood, and watches upon rooftops to find anyone who dares to oppress anyone lower than them. She steals from the unworthy and gives to the lowly.
The whispers among the streets call them the “Justiciar”.
The knights have been called, but seemingly never caught the Justiciar.
The oppressors fear.
The Justiciar watches.
